3rd Mobile Learning Research Workshop, to be held at UTS, Sydney, on Thursday 24th November 2011

Dear mLearning Gurus,

It is with great pleasure that I extend an invitation to you all to attend the 3rd Mobile Learning Research Workshop, to be held at UTS, Sydney, on Thursday 24th November 2011.

This free 1-day workshop aims to again bring together some of the top mLearning researchers and practitioners from Australia and Aotearoa to explore new directions in mLearning, develop collaborative research projects, and to recognize outstanding mLearning projects through the anzMLearn Best Project Award. On the day we will also be featuring a hands-on workshop on Slowmation (a simplified way to make animation), led by Associate Professor Garry Hoban of the Faculty of Education, University of Wollongong , which will provide practical skills in a powerful learning and teaching technique and allow us to reflect on the learning processes involved in student-generated mLearning.

If you have not attended before, please send back a short paragraph stating your research, practice, achievements or publication record in mLearning. If you are an existing member of anzMLearn ('anz-em-learn'), the Australian and New Zealand Mobile Learning Group, which is sponsoring the event, you only have to email your wish to attend.

Please note that preference in selection of participants will be given to members of anzMLearn ( To join anzMLearn, email with a:
a) small photo
b) short paragraph (100 words maximum) with your affiliation, achievements and interests in mLearning
c) URL of your webpage if you have one (optional)
d) email address for contact (this will not appear on the anzMLearn website).

We have a maximum of 25 places for this event, so please register as soon as possible. Feel free to circulate the attached notice to anyone you know who might be interested in attending.
